Traditional weaving courses

Courses to inspire, increase skills and provide you with success

From beginning weaving to advanced weave structures, there’s a class here for you.

  • Beginning weaving teaches you the steps for success through a series of mug rugs (coasters);

  • Twill weaves is your next step involves creating twill tea towels (kitchen towels) and color exploration.

  • Advanced courses include structure studies - overshot, lace weaves, crackle weave, summer and winter, doubleweave.

Using Swedish Countermarch and Counterbalance looms alongside American Jack looms exposes you to a variety of types of loom mechanics so you find the one best for you.

Table looms for in-studio use. Choose between the Ashford, LeClerc, Louet or Rasmussen looms.

Rigid Heddle looms for quick weaving and Beka looms for band weaving, Zoom loom pin looms, Friendly Loom potholder looms.

No matter your weaving interest, there is equipment here for you!

Embroidery courses

Hardanger embroidery classes; Dorset button creation classes

  • Learn traditional Norwegian Hardanger embroidery and expand your skills.

  • Create personalized buttons using methods from before the Industrial Revolution - a ring and thread.

Natural Dye courses

Fun in dyepots by playing with flowers, roots, bark and bugs (!)

Dye yarn with natural elements such as butterweed, weld, marigold, osage orange, logwood and cochineal

Basketry and Leatherworking courses

Because you need to hold things together and make life beautiful

Studio hours:

Wednesday 10am to 5pm.

Thursday 10am to 7pm.

Friday 10am to 5am.

Saturday 10am to 4pm.

Sunday to Tuesday by appointment only.
